Along with the beaches, Pedras Street (in English, "Stones Street") is one of Búzios' major attractions. It gathers trendy boutiques selling national and international brands, restaurants, ice cream parlors, bars, and a Buddhist center.

Its name refers to the type of pavement, made with large irregular stones in the style of ancient towns. In 1960, the street was just a dirt walkway to the sea. Búzios had only a few fishermen's houses and a grocery store.

In the 1970s, businessman César Thedim and young architect Octávio Raja Gabaglia decided to pave the dirt street to allow for the rare movement of cars of outsiders who visited the village. Nowadays, the street is closed to cars and crowded with pedestrians every night.
