Together with Teresópolis, Friburgo , and Cachoeiras de Macacu, Guapimirim is part of the tourist circuit of Verde Imperial Mountain Range. The Órgãos Mountain Range National Park is located in this region, also extending to the city of Magé. Its name is due the resemblance its peaks have to the organ pipes of the churches.

On the rocky and uneven wall of Mar Mountain Range, one finds the Dedo de Deus (God's Finger) Massif: a block 1,692 meters high that is the symbol of mountaineering in Rio de Janeiro, listed by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Cultural - Iphan (National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage).

With an area of more than 20,000 hectares, the Park was created in 1939, during President Getúlio Vargas' government, and it is managed by Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade - ICMBio (Chico Mendes Institute for the Biodiversity Conservation).

Permanently opened to public visiting, one of its accesses is in Guapimirim, where it is possible to walk or ride bikes on the trails that lead to waterfalls, wells, and natural pools. It is also in Guapi that one can see two architectural gems of the Park: the head office of the old Barreira do Soberdo farm and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Conception, built in the 18th century, in Baroque style. Going by the city, the access is by km 98 of the Rio - Teresopolis Highway (Santos Dumont Highway).
