People - Volta Redonda


Born Jean Carlos Gomes, on November 4, 1979, he is a poet, writer, and columnist from Volta Redonda. He released his first book in 1998, entitledBolas de Sabão, a collection of sonnets and poems written in collaboration with Pedro Viana Filho.

More recently, in 2008, He released Cardápio Poético (Um Delicioso Cardápio Para o Seu Dia-a-dia), his first solo poetry book. With his publishing house PoeArt, he has edited 16 books, highlight to Antologias Poéticas de Diversos Autores ? Vozes de Aço (now in its eleventh volume) andColetâneas Século XXI (now in its third volume).

Part of the texts selected for these collections are chosen from the PoeArt National Literature Contest, which, in 2012, reached its tenth edition. Registration is open to anyone over 18 years of age interested in sending their poetry, between the months of July and August.

Important enthusiast and promoter of culture in the region, Jean Carllo has already received honorable mentions from Volta Redonda's City Council for his dedication to culture and literature, and also for his social work. He has also been congratulated by the City Council in Barra Mansa, city ??where is a founding member of the Academy of Letters.
