The historical Portuguese Imperial Era ranch is currently a hotel. It was founded in 1852 by the Teixeira Leite family, who migrated from the state of Minas Gerais to the Paraíba Valley with the goal of entering the profitable coffee business.

At the U-shaped farmhouse, an Italian style porch can be accessed through two fenced lateral staircases on stone. The farmhouse has furniture from the time of its building which are still preserved.

The ranch is open to visitation and offers a programme of historical soirées and seresta (a name given, in the 20th century, to the popular tradition of singing serenades and romantic songs at night, through the streets of a city or town) performances on Saturdays.
