"I brought this art to the city and encouraged the formation of new professionals. Today we have 28," tells Ramiro who created in 2006 the Paraty Potters Meeting. The artist began his career making utilitarian pieces, but nowadays he develops medium and large sculptures, apart from creating immense hanging mobiles.

The main influence in his work is the Cubism. "What attracts me in ceramics is the beauty of form, the power of touch. It requires a domination of the raw material by the artist. It is exciting," explains Ramiro. "Pottery is everywhere: in the cup, on the roof, on the computer. Without the ceramic we would not have gone to the moon, "he adds.
