Capitão Pitaluga Museum

The museum is dedicated to the memory of military men who fought the Second World War. In the occasion, the 1stSquadron of Light Cavalry fought in Europe along with the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB). The museum is at the barracks, which are also known as Tenente Amaro Squadron, in tribute to the official killed in combat.

The museum has a collection of 300 items, including weapons from allies and weapons which were confiscated from German officials, as well as items and documents which belonged to the officials and Captain Pitalunga, the Squadron commander. The museum receives 150 to 200 visitors a month and it was listed by Instituto Estadual do Patrimônio Cultural-Inepac (State Institute of Cultural Heritage), in 2004.

Mon, from 9am to noon and from 1h30 to 4h30pm. Tue to Thu, from 8am to 11h30am and from 1h30 to 4h30pm. Fri, from 8am to 11h30am.
