The beauties of Carapebus inspire poet Ana Paula Filgueira's writings. Born in the city in 1977, Ana Paula published her first book in 1999. Momentos Morenos included her first poems and was released in several cities in the North and Northwest of Rio de Janeiro. Her second book, Lacunas, released in 2012, had the local landscape as its setting and celebrates the history and heritage of the region.


The writer also published poems in the Poetic Anthology of Casarão Hermê and received an award in the National Festival of Spoken Poetry of Macaé in 2004 and 2008. In August 2012, she represented the municipalities of Carapebus, Quissamã and Macaé in the International Biennial Book Fair of São Paulo with the poem Um Coração, três pulmões!, in honor of the National Park of Restinga de Jurubatiba.
